2005 A Year in Review

ok, this is my anime/whatever I feel like review of the top things of the year.

2005 has been a pretty good year for everything including anime and jrock. Jrock I had high expectations with some releases this year and was not dissapointed, however with anime I did not have high expectations and it suprised me this year. I am also interested to know other people's top fav this year. anime/game/movies/music etc, so please feel free to comment if you wish.

Favourite anime series:
haha, everyone knew this was coming first right?
1) Blood+
2) Jigoku Shoujo
3) Rozen Maiden: Traumend
Ones that came close:
    Shuffle!
    Tsubasa Chronicle

Blood+ may be an ongoing series however it has suprised a few people after being a sequel to the well known film, Blood: The Last Vampire which was really too short for most people to think good, however the series is different. At being 52 episodes long and only just run its 12th episode we are in for a long ride. Definately was a title to look out for this year.
Jigoku Shoujo is a sleeper hit, not popular but among its fans it is extremely popular. Jigoku Shoujo translated as Hell Girl is captivating as it is mysterious. Another ongoing series at 1/2 way through after just airing its 13th episode out of a total of 26 episodes. This one may not be well known but is definately worth watching.
Rozen Maiden: Traumend, I knew I would like this as I quite enjoyed the 1st series however I did not think I would enjoy it as much as I have. The only thing I disliked? to many nonsense filler episodes. Already airing its 9th episode out of a total of 12 episodes this series is not for everyone, however for the people it is for, if you can ignore the nonsense at times it proves to be a good series.

Favourite OP theme
1) Jigoku Shoujo OP theme 2: I just really like this song, not sure why. It just seems fitting.
2) Tsubasa Chronicle OP theme: Kinya's Blaze is a really good song, upbeat and catchy it goes with the show well.
3) Blood+ OP theme: Everyone knows I am a big fan of Takahashi Hitomi let alone with her singing the OP to Blood+, I was excited, and I love the song. Aozora no namida could have been placed higher if I didn't love the two above so much.

Favourite ED theme:
1) Blood+ ED: Some people think the singer of the ED cannot sing, she can! This is a slow song compared to the upbeat fast and catchy OP theme.
2)Gundam SEED Destiny Final ED theme: I am not sure what it is about this song, it is just likeable, and plus I much prefered this ending for SEED Destiny as compared to the last episode.
3) Jigoku Shoujo ED theme: hehe, everything about this show is great, even both the OP and ED. Although I prefer the OP more, the ED still needs credit. The song's sad tone tries to portray the fact that Ai is not happy with her job as the Jigoku Shoujo, however I am only guessing. Guess I will have to wait for the next episode to air to see.

Favourite movies
No order, but my top 3 picks.
Kung Fu Hustle: It is very rare that I laugh at a movie, however Kung Fu Hustle is definately a movie I find funny. Really funny. Everyone in my family actually enjoyed this movie however I still wish that they could have watched it in Chinese with subtitles because the dubbing on this movie was so bad. The dub would be saying a totally different thing to the subtitles that was pure comedy in itself. However, still a good funny movie.
Memoirs of a Geisha: omg, this movie is really good. I was stunned how their adaptation from book to movie actually worked because I thought this was one book that I loved that they would not be able to turn into a movie. I was totally wrong. Ziyi Zhang played her lead role really well and with great performances from people like Ken Watanabe, Michelle Yeoh and Gong Li (Gong Li was great) this was a really good movie. Def. I will buy this when it comes out.
House of Flying Daggers: yes, this is a film from last year however it is was released here this year, confusing I know, and yes I am still blabbering on about this movie. It is a really great movie and I think it has the right balance of action, romance etc. It was done well. Another film staring Ziyi Zhang, however probably her other best movie.

Kupo - Usual Self

omg, days have gone so quick, and I cannot find any decent copies of Elfen Lied manga (in japanese language). I have found only one site, they only have the first 9 volumes though I don't want to go through whole series just to have part of set, it is 12 volume series! Plus I want to read the ending that I have not seen (as the anime ending is different to the manga ending). I am considering buying the manga anyways, at least that is 9 volumes, right? yeah and at $5 a piece I really cannot go wrong XD at least that is what I think. The TV remote dislikes me, greatly....>.> it does not want to change volume or channel. Don' t you hate it when they do that? I do greatly, very very annoying. I have bought most of my Christmas pressies for people now, only two more people to get them for. My ancafe album has been shipped to canada finally and my alice nine CD has finally arrived at mail forwarding box. Not too long before I get both I don't think. I have been waiting for them so long, I preordered them both so they were shipped on release date....just takes ages for them to arrive through customs I presume...>.>
As for anime, I have been watching a few new things: Rozen Maiden Traumend episode 6: that was pretty good, better than the nonsense episodes they sometimes stick in there. Blood+ episode 8: okies, I suppose however I really hope this series will pick up some pace soon. And I rewatched the whole series of Elfen Lied, I still cry at the last episode, I really should not, as I don't usually cry at a lot of things, apart from a few anime endings but Elfen lied's ending is brilliant in my opinion however I just find it sad and cry. I am greatly thinking of buying the rest of the manga, after all it is pretty cheap and I want to know the different ending in the manga, I have a rough idea, but having a rough idea and reading it yourself are two totally different things, I do hope to be able to find the last volumes somewhere. There are few anime scenes that I cry at, so Elfen Lied achieves something great in making me able to cry. Chrono Crusades ending makes me cry also when:
 **********spoiler**********
Rosette is dying and she says how she does not want to die and all that, and she wants to use the last of her power to heal Chrono. But Chrono says he wants to die with her, and they both love each other, and they die in the sunset thing...so sad...
also Saikano esp the bit when:::
***********spoiler**********
Akemi is dying and she tells Shuji that she also loves him. That was just plain sad and depressing, however the whole of Saikano overall is really sad...

sorry, for the spoilers everyone if you have not seen those series. I won't spoil Elfen Lied for you, because well I really liked that series and was glad that no one told me anything about it before I watched it. So I won't XD
Anyways, this is enough for my talk about sad anime shows..lol

Kupo - Feeling: Sad

Things have been getting me down lately, most things. I wish I could be happy, however, however hard I try everything always seems to be thrown back at me. I have been looking foward to it for weeks, getting my hair cut, and it looked great to started off with. But now, it looks bad, and life just does not seem to care how I feel. Here I am crying, because everything has gone bad for me at every point in my life, sure I have made some good friends who have stuck by me and not judged me by my appearences or my apparent shyness when I first met them. I would love to be one of those pretty people who seem so happy, but I am not, and never will be.  I am ugly. People who know me, will know that I  appear to everyone as such a hard person, a person who never cries at anything, no matter how hard it hurts me, however that is nothing like the real person that I am. I am someone who is extremely emotional and does not believe in herself totally. All my hopes and dreams, no matter how much I say them, deep down I know they will never come true. I know that no matter how much I wish, they will still just be one thing, dreams. This is the only depressing post I am ever going to do on this blog, because from now on I am going to change. Those dreams I will still keep in my heart, even though I know I will not reach them. I will keep them with me, after all I have had them for so many years. This is what I like about the PC and IMs and online shows, and forums and all that such, I can hide from the fact that people don't judge you by appearence they judge you by what you say and how you act, on things that matter, not what is on the outside, but the inside. But from now, I am going to try to start to believe in myself, believe in my own doings, and even though I still think I am ugly, I am going to try to not care. Is this right for me? I do not know, however one thing I do know is, I am going to try. There are so many pretty people in the world, why can't one of them be me? I mean, I am not good looking at all, but the way I dress is cool and everything I always get comments on my clothes. I am going to try my best, try to excel in everything. My hair I should be able to fix, at the moment I have lost my hair straigheners and spiky stuff so I need to find that, and then hopefully, I can fix my hair. Thanks for all your kindness and listening to me ^_^ I shall remember you all, always...

Kupo - Totally Insane

Hi everyone! How have you been enjoying my shows so far? I hope everyone liked them XD I will be doing tomorrow's show either today or tomorrow, I may be slightly late as it is hard to find microphone as I put it somewhere safe and now have lost it.

I have been getting some stuff for winter at the moment because it is getting a lot colder here, it is getting towards -2c here and yesterday it is -3c. I went out in the cold with a t-shirt, thin jacket, skirt and massive fluffy boots. haha, I love my new boots they are like amazing, and are big and black and are all furry all over the outside of them. I got a lot of comments about people who liked my boots XD. I need to get the other boots I saw as well, they are massive platforms but they are really nice and go half way up leg. I really need to get some of them, they look really similar to a pair Jui (Vidoll) wears in one of their PVs. I also got some other things for winter, eg. a black and white hat (not the winter kind of hat, but still nice XDD) I also got some bright pink, purple and black gloves XD they are really nice but my mother swears they don't go with any other winter item I have XD. I can still wear them though haha.
I got Samurai Champloo Vol. 1 of manga yesterday, have started reading a bit of it but it was late when we got back so have not even got past 1st chapter yet. Seems to be good though, and plus I loved the anime of Samurai Champloo. Will let you know if I reccomend it (no doubt I will) next time I update.
My mother got some movies for us to stop us getting bored as it is snowing outside and I do not want to go out now as the snow is coming down quite fast now. The movies we got were, Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, this is one that we will probably all watch together as my parents have seen all Star Wars movies, and I have seen the other 2 new ones. My mother wanted to see Hitchhikers Guide to Galaxy so we are going to watch that as well. It has good trailers before it, haha, a film called Flightplan looks freaky but good, and the new Narnia film which I want to see because I read all the books when I was younger. My parents also got Species 3 which I am not sure if I want to see, it is rated 14+ here so I can watch, I am just not sure if I want to. I don't usually like films like that. My mother also got Kung Fu Hustle, which I have wanted to see for a while. it is action/comedy and got good ratings in the magazine I saw it in. It looks quite funny with old women kung fu jumping over moving lorries and everything, just a load of fun really XD.
I am saving up to buy people christmas pressies at the moment because I have now started to get money again, so I can get christmas presents for people. Not sure what I am getting for people, will have to see what is there at time of looking. I have a good idea for some people though, just not totally sure XD. I am hoping to maybe get some money for Christmas as there is so much stuff coming out just after Christmas that I totally dying to get. Things that interest me most, are new Gazette album coming out Feb (long way away, however gazette albums are very expensive and you have to preorder them before release) the limited edition has a PV with it and that is one I definately want, good price for just over 3000 yen.  I also want to get Vidoll mini-album which comes out Jan. 1st and has two different versions, one has "Shutdown" PV and the other has "Chocoripeyes" PV. I want the Chocoripeyes one, as I prefer that song to other. anyone interested in seeing the advert for it, here:

Well everyone, hopefully Kate will come on at some point to update and to chat to people as well. ttyl all.
